







Chania is a beautiful city located on western Crete. It is actually divided in two parts: The new town, with its shops and busy roads and the picturesque old town, built around the Venetian harbour with architecture influenced by past decades as throughout the years it has been under the Arab, Venetian and Turkish occupation.
Walk the stonepathed, narrow streets around the harbour with the graphic houses and buildings from the Venetian period that create a special atmosphere both during day and night. Various old charming buildings are now restored as shops, hotels, bars and restaurants creating colourful scenery. Do not forget to visit the lighthouse and the Firkas fort, the archeological museun and the famous Municipal market.
On the seafront you will find many tavernas serving traditional Cretan mezedes and delicious seafood. Chania also is known for its nightlife with various bars and nightclubs where the fun continues till the early morning hours.
In the wider area of Chania you will find many interesting archeological sites, traditional villages, beautiful churches, caves and gorges for an allday excursion as well as some of the most amazing beaches in Greece.
