”Toll”
Etwas schwer zu finden, dafür idyllisch am Meer gelegen mit viel Privatsphäre. Gastgeber sehr freundlich, wohnt nebenan, immer ansprechbar, toller Zugang zum Meer (Steilküste).

”stunning location”
Absolutely stunning location and great accommodation. Host so kind and left us essentials including fresh eggs and vegetables from their garden and hens. Their dogs spent time with us which the children loved but if you didn’t like dogs I’m sure they would put them away. Loads of towels and local beaches beautiful. Perfect all round Thank you for being the perfect hosts! Lovely food, lovely dogs! Perfect house and location

”Gorgeous villa. Home from home in amazing location.”
We have just returned from a week at Villa Alantha (21 - 27 Aug 2016) and had an amazing time. I travelled with a friend and my 2 sons aged 12 and 16. Everything about the villa is perfect. I have never stayed at a holiday villa which has been so well equipped from the kitchen which had everything you could want to the endless supply of bath towels and beach towels. The villa was spotlessly clean and was cleaned during our stay. Even the wifi coped (albeit a bit slowly) with many devices using it at once. The pool is freshly filled from the sea every week and got warmer as the week went on but even on the first day was not too cold even for a wimp like me. There are lovely sun loungers around the pool and lots of shade for those that want it. The view from the pool and from the balcony is utterly stunning overlooking the sea and the hills beyond. I miss the view more than anything. Now on to the hidden gem which is not properly explained on the villa details. There is a sloping path from the villa directly to your own private pontoon with direct access into the gorgeous turquoise water. There are sunbeds to lounge on and even a pergola for shade. I could have stayed there with my kindle for the entire week! I couldn't review this villa without mentioning Rex the German Shepherd! He lives with the owners of the villa at one of the other 3 villas on site and loves children and followed my 12 yr old everywhere. Gill the owner asked us whether we liked dogs, which we do, but we were initially a bit taken aback by Rex who did get excited when my son was jumping in the pool and followed us down to the pontoon every time. Gill offered to keep Rex away so if you are not keen on dogs it wouldn't be a problem but we totally fell in love with him and he became part of our family for the week. He photo bombed almost all of our photos! Must also mention the other dog Jack who is equally lovely. Also to mention Gill the owner. She could not have done more for us and was so friendly we felt we had known her for ages! I guess the only possible negative is that the villa is pretty isolated and you really need a car to get to a local shop or bar unless you are happy to walk a fair distance - this wouldn't be impossible but in the heat it was too far for us. My friend and I loved the isolation and the peace but my 16 year old didn't see it that way! So it depends what you are looking for I guess. I would choose this location over a resort location every time. The nearest town is Agios Nikolaos and it is fabulous. It has a very pretty lake with restaurants around it and also a port area with more restaurants which we found to be slightly cheaper with nicer food. There are also some amazing shops. Not tacky at all though you could get fake trainers and headphones really cheaply much to my sons' delight. But there was also some gorgeous jewellery, clothes and shoe shops which were not ridiculous prices. It is only a 10 min drive from the villa with easy parking at the port. We also got a taxi there a couple of evenings, arranged by Gill, and this was about 10 euros each way. There are a number of local beaches, the best local one only 5 mins drive away. Finally we booked the villa through Villas In Crete. Antonis was great to deal with and I would recommend them. I can't say enough good things about Villa Alantha and I really hope I can return one day. Thanks Gill.
